Festivals

Oxford’s extraordinary festival culture. Music, theatre and literature across the city.

Spring

The Oxford International Song Festival brings world-class singers and pianists to some of Oxford’s most beautiful historic venues.

It’s also a rare opportunity to step inside extraordinary spaces such as the Holywell Music Room, one of England’s first purpose-built public concert halls (1748), created for classical performance at a time when music was often reserved for the upper classes. Sitting there today, you’re part of that long musical history.

The festival celebrates international song, from German Lieder to French mélodie and English art song, in intimate, atmospheric settings.
While these concerts are extremely accessibly priced, they are not free and tickets should be booked in advance.
Oxford also offers wonderful free music, and you can find a curated guide on the Oxford History Tours blog.

🎼 Music, poetry and history. A perfectnOxford combination.
